Three years ago, on February 24, 2022, Vladimir Putin thought he could make Ukraine his in the blink of an eye. A blitzkrieg, an easy annexation for his neo-imperialist purposes. Today, February 24, 2025, that bet has been lost, Kiev has resisted and Russia says it is ready to negotiate peace after President Trump’swarning: “Either peace now or serious consequences”.
As Giovanbattista Fazzolari, undersecretary of the Presidency of the Council, said, “The lightning invasion imagined by Putin has turned into a war that has been going on for three years and is putting Russia to the test. It is proof that freedom, when a people defends it tooth and nail, can bend even the Kremlin.
Ukrainians are not just soldiers sent to the slaughter, as dezinformatsiya would like to describe them: they are true patriots. They know Soviet oppression on their skin, they know what it means to lose everything. And instead of surrendering, they stopped what many considered the second most powerful army in the world. It is a lesson of heart and will: a people who love their country will not bend, even before tanks. They have made the goals of an autocrat a failure, also thanks to the support of the West, a commitment of which we should be proud.
For yes, Italy and Europe are on the front line with Kiev. Weapons, aid, solidarity: the Meloni government has never wavered, despite the parlor pacifists who would have us believe that peace is achieved by bowing our heads. But peace is not surrender, and the Ukrainians prove it every day. They are fighting not just for themselves, but for an idea of freedom that concerns us all. If Putin wins, if the law of the jungle prevails, which European nation would be safe? This war is not a distant issue: it is our border, our future.
It is not just military resistance: it is pride, it is identity. And we, as Italian patriots, cannot but look at them with respect and determination.
Giorgia Meloni confirms this: her support for Ukraine is proof of an Italy that does not betray its allies, that knows that sovereignty is a non-negotiable value. It is a struggle that affects us deeply, that reminds us that freedom is expensive.
We of The Voice of the Patriot stand with Kiev, unequivocally. Three years of struggle are not just an anniversary: they are a living example for the whole of Europe. Ukrainians show us the way: to defend the fatherland, always and at all costs. And we cannot do less.
